  • NEW! Genworth Will Launch Element, a New Long Term Care Insurance Solution. At Genworth, we are working to help make long term care insurance more accessible through underwriting enhancements and more affordable solutions. On June 27, we will launch ElementSM, a long term care insurance solution based on our flagship Privileged Choice® Flex 3 product. Element features four preset packages. There are just two decisions to make: determine which level of protection your clients want and for couples, the optional Shared Coverage benefit can be selected.
  • NEW! In-Force Rate Action Announcement: New Customer Website to Help You & Your Clients. We understand that premium increases on long-term care insurance policies can be challenging to understand and explain. To help your clients through the process, we have developed a new consumer website to provide additional information. You can see this information by going to genworth.com/ltcpremiums.
  • In-Force Rate Action Policyholder Communication Updates. Starting with new rate increase implementations in June, policyholders impacted by a premium increase will receive a new premium increase notification letter designed to help your clients better understand the options available to them.
  • In-Force Rate Action Producer Communication Update. Starting in June, if we have your email address on file, you will begin receiving rate action notifications through email. This email will replace the hardcopy letters that are currently mailed. The rate action notifications will include a link to Genworth.com where you can find the lists of your impacted clients.

  • Reminder: Companion of New York Announcement. We recently announced that Companion Life Insurance Company would be temporarily suspending sales for the Term Life Answers (TLA) and our GUL, GUL Plus and GUL Survivor products in New York only. Difficult and complex business decisions like this are not easy to make and we would like to clarify that there were many factors that went into this decision. The contributing factors included market conditions, economic factors, as well as certain reserve requirements applicable to the products that were suspended. As noted earlier, we will continue to monitor these conditions and factors in an effort to bring these products back to New York in the future.

  • NEW! Important Updates to Symetra's Term Life Insurance Product. At Symetra, our goal is to offer competitive products that can help fulfill your clients’ financial needs and help you build your business. From time to time, we review our current product portfolio to ensure it remains competitive. After a recent review, we have decided to make the following changes to our term product, effective June 13, 2016:
    • Increase the maximum issue ages.
    • Increase the Accelerated Benefit Rider for Terminal Illness advance access amount from 50% to 75% ($500,000 maximum).
    • Underwrite and issue our term product on an “age nearest” basis.
    • Discontinue the inherent Safety and Transportation Benefits and optional Guaranteed Insurability Option (GIO) rider.
