AXA

  • New and improved BrightLife® Term policies are on sale now. BrightLife® TermOne® (1-year policy) and BrightLife® Term Series (includes ART, 10, 15 and 20 year policies) will now be part of their BrightLife® suite.
    • Clients who convert a BrightLife® Term Series policy within the first five policy years will receive a 25% increase to the conversion credit that can be applied to the new permanent policy.
    • Guaranteed rates for three years on BrightLife® Annual Renewable Term (ART): Current rates at the time of purchase will be guaranteed for the first three years.
  • Two client mailings will be sent out after the first of the year (originally schedule for November 10, 2014):
    • Term Conversion Awareness Letter
    • For those who qualify, a Term Conversion Program with the option to add AXA's Long-Term Care ServicesSM Rider with limited underwriting and no labs or exams.
    • Limited time promotion: certain eligible clients may be able to convert their term coverage and apply to add the Long-Term Care Services Rider with limited underwriting, no labs, and no exams. Apps must be in by December 31, 2014.

American General

  • NEW: Increase announced in home office pre-approval limit. Effective Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 home office official pre-approval is only required for premiums of more than $1.5M, increased from the previous limit of $1M, for the following products: Elite Index II, Elite Survivor Index II, and Elite Global Plus II. John Hancock

  • NEW: LTC in-force rate action notifications happening in late December. The 2013 in-force rate action includes John Hancock LTCI individual policies originally issued in Maine, Montana, Oklahoma, and Washington state.Maine requires that policyholders affected by this increase must be notified 90 days prior to the effective date, resulting in effective dates beginning no earlier than April 1, 2015.Fortis policies or policies impacted by the 2010 in-force rate action are not included in this round. They will continue to notify those impacted policies and policyholders from previously announced rounds, as applicable.

  • NEW: Retail Life New Business & Underwriting Mailing Addresses. The preferred method to send Life New Business paperwork is nblifemetlife.com. However, when it is necessary to mail documents, the following addresses should be used for life applications, initial premiums, delivery requirements and declined / not taken policy returns.   • Improved offers on more than 15,000 table-rated cases. MetEdge will help deliver the best possible rating for qualified applicants who have been rated Table B only. Table C-rated applicants will no longer qualify for MetEdge. The revised program considers 34 medical impairments and non-medical risks, an increase of seven.

Transamerica

  • NEW: Waiver of Premium rider sales suspended in California. Due to recent regulatory changes, they are temporarily suspending sales of the Waiver of Premium Rider on Trendsetter® Express and Trendsetter® LB effective Dec. 19, 2014. Please note that Trendsetter Express and Trendsetter LB are still available for sale in California. Applications with the Waiver of Premium Rider must be signed, dated and received in good order in our Cedar Rapids administrative office by close of business on Dec. 19, 2014.
  • Withdrawal of Freedom Index Universal Life II and Freedom Global IUL II in CT. With the release of TransNavigator IUL, Transamerica is withdrawing the Freedom Index Universal Life IISM and Freedom Global IUL IISM products in Connecticut. Applications for either product must be signed and received in good order in the Cedar Rapids Administrative Office by close of business on Dec. 5, 2014.
  • Clarification of Term Conversion Enhancements announced in October 2014. It was previously communicated that fully underwritten inforce policies past five years may convert to TransACE CV at any time within the contractual conversion period. However, those policies from Transamerica-affiliated issuing companies (Monumental Life Insurance Company, Peoples Benefit Life Insurance Company, Stonebridge Life Insurance Company and Western Reserve Life Assurance Co. of Ohio) are ONLY allowed to convert to TransACE CV within the initial five policy years. Only Transamerica Life Insurance Company products are allowed to convert to TransACE CV past the initial five policy years. Due to this miscommunication, an exception will be made to accept TransACE CV conversions from Transamerica-affiliated issuing companies that are older than five years, until November 21, 2014.Apps must be received in good order by close of business on November 21, 2014.
